When Sikhism was introduced , what was the political and genral
condition of INDIA ?
and also should study
why Sikhism was created?
In reply to the above questions ,no one else can explain better than
Senior Aryasamaji & Learned scholar, Sh Daulat Rai ji,who wrote a book
named “Sahib-E- kamal –Guru Gobind Singh” and in introduction to this
book Shri Daulat Rai has given the answers to the above questions in a
perfect manner ,the same are reproduced here below:-
“Sahib-E- kamal –Guru Gobind Singh”
INTRODUCTION
Question: When Sikhism was introduced , what was the political and
genral condition of INDIA ? & why Sikhism was created?
Answer:
It is imperative to describe the plight of the Hindus and the origin of
the Sikh religion before moving on to the life of Guru Govind Singh.
Guru Nanak founded Sikhism in Babar’s time. Hindu India had then been
under Muslim rule for 350 years.
Muslims were tempted to invade India because of disunity among Hindus
caused by political, religious and social consideration. The concept of
nationalism was missing. Hindus were divided in numerous religious sects
following diverse and sometimes diametrically opposite rites, rituals
and beliefs. Their modes of worship were different and often they were
at war with one another. Staring with worship of gods and demigods,
Hinduism had degenerated into animal worship. The social fabric was in
shreds. The caste system had become air tight. The Brahmins in their
hey-day had introduced it to keep themselves in power and plenty.
Shudras, the lowest caste, were condemned to eternal slavery and
damnation. The old Vedic religion in the hands of the Brahmins had
become savage and cruel. Religion stands for peace (outward and inward),
goodness and righteous living. The Hindus then were bereft of the
blessings of such a religion.
Before the onslaught of Islam, Buddhism had already made inroads in
Hindu India. Buddhism, besides being simple, had rejected the caste
system. The lower castes embraced it in great numbers and over night
gained equality with the high castes. Buddhism gained eminence over
Brahmanism till it was over thrown by the armed might of the Rajputs (of
Agni Dynasty) adding fire power to the intellectual gun of
Shankaracharya and his followers. These followers were mainly Brahmins
and they exerted themselves extensively to restore the supremacy of the
Brahmin, tighten the common man ignorant and illiterate. But
idol-worship introduced by Buddhism had its roots grown too deep to be
uprooted. The philosophy of Shankaracharya that ‘all is God’ (Sabh Brahm
he hai) failed to cut any ice against the caste-system and thus bring
Hindus into one fold.
Shankaracharya was a follower of Shiva. His main disciple Ramanuja was a
votary of Vishnu, who preached the worship of his god. He was
instrumental in creating more off-shoots of Hinduism like Madhavi,
Vishnu Swami, Vallabhachari, etc. Thus instead of integration further
ramifications took place to make things worse for Hinduism. People were
attracted to these new fountains of clear reasoning but found the filth
of many kinds in their depths, India was weak and divided into inimical,
political, social and religious camps. The Indians had become
ease-loving pleasure seekers. Their physical well-being and
gratification of sense-pleasures became the main purpose of their life.
The devotees of Krishna were largely responsible for this moral
degeneration. The Brahmins reassumed the role of gurus who engrained in
the psyche of the common man the spiritual uplift. His gurudom came to
stay and cannot be shaken off even now.
Liberation is the destined end of human life. In order to cheat the
common man of his worldly goods and money, the Brahmin advocated that
this world of phenomena with its worldly goods, is untrue and the only
true entity is Brahm. So the common man should offer his worldly
possessions to him, considering them untrue and worthless. He would look
after their spiritual welfare in return. The votaries of Shakti had
become cruel and unchaste moral lepers. The Shaivities had taken to
drugs, opium, charas, ganja and wine. Such was the sad plight of the
Hindus. They were groping in the dark shrouded by superstition. They
were no match for the one-God-loving (worshipping) fierce followers of
Islam. The Hindus were stuck in the swamp of polytheism and man worship.
They were at logger-heads with one another. The welfare of others was
farthest from their minds. They were not united in anything.
The Hindu India looked an easy prey to the Mohammedans who turned their
face towards it and over-ran it at their will. They destroyed the last
vestiges of Hindu power and completely enslaved the people. They tried
their level best to belittle the Hindus, rob them of their wealth and
women, reduce them to a servile and spineless people. In short they came
to own Hindus as thoroughly as a man his cattle.
The Hindus could not withstand the relentless ramming of their citadel
by the Mohammedans. Large number of the two lower castes of Hindus
embraced Islam either under duress or willingly to escape the stigma of
untouchability and slavery. The high caste Hindus were not greatly
perturbed but rather felt relieved that the rotten limbs of the body of
Hinduism had fallen off. “A good riddance,” they mused. These high caste
but purblind Hindus couldn’t envisage that this limb was going to be
rejuvenated and turn into their master. The neo-converts were more
zealous than the invading Muslims and had no little hand in inflicting
unspeakable horrors on their erstwhile masters and co-religionists. The
idol-worship of Hindus invited the wrath of Muslims who considered it a
holy duty to destroy the temples, along with the idols, of the infidels
and bring them under the banner of Islam. Their proselytism assumed
gigantic and horrendous proportions.
The idols were broken, the costly gems embedded therein taken away. The
Hindus women in their thousands were not only molested and taken into
individual harems but were auctioned for the petty consideration of two
dinars in the bazaars of Ghazni and other cities. Muslims and Hindus
looked down upon each other. The tyranny of the victorious Muslims was
boundless. In all walks of life the Hindus were treated like dirt. They
were butchered in thousands, their idols broken and set in the
door-steps of mosques where Muslims placed their shoes before entering.
They were asked to keep food-staff, clothes and bare necessities of life
needed for a period of six months only and hand over the rest to
Muslims. The chronicle of Muslim rule is full of death and decimation of
denigration of their gods, deflowering of their women and denial of all
rights to them. A Hindus was forbidden to keep a fine horse, house,
woman, children and things with him, to ride a horse and to wear a white
turban. The Muslim rulers exerted themselves assiduously to obliterate
the word victory, its concept, its very through from the Hindu psyche.
Whenever a Hindu chess-player emerged triumphant over his Muslim
adversary, he was ordered to embrace Islam or be beheaded. If a Hindu
wrestles worsted his Mohammedan opponent in the arena, he had to convert
to Islam in order to save his skin. It was a devilish and sustained
scheme to emasculate the Hindus. The good things of life were not for
them. It was considered magnanimity on the part of their victorious
rulers to let them breathe and lead a life at sub-human level.
The Rajputs were once considered the finest flower of Hindu chivalry.
Their pride, glory and manhood were ground to such fine dust that they
vied with each other to offer their daughters in marriage to the Muslim
prices and nobles. Thus the Hindu nation had touched the nadir. Any
Hindu who looked askance at them was treated with scorn by the Rajputs.
They had to pay jazia (tax) for remaining Hindus, and those who could
not afford to pay, had to become Muslims. Hindus could not keep doors
and lavatories towards west thus desecrating kaaba.
Those Brahmins who embraced Islam were flatteringly called sayyads. The
raft of Hinduism was about to be sunk when it was steered clear of the
dangerous shallows of sloth, superstition and ritualism and utter
despondency by an able seaman no less than Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He
preached the oneness of man and the oneness of God and denounced the
caste system and its off-shoots untouchability, idol worship and
cankerous ritualism. He preached that Akal (God) is above birth and
death. With disarming sweetness he used honeyed words which had the
cutting edge of highly honed steel. The Brahmins felt the steel in his
words but were powerless to fulminate against him. Guru Nanak assuaged
to some extent the rancour between the Muslims and the Hindus.
The Hindus had lost their country and were on the verge losing their
identity and faith. They had got some respite in the reign of Akbar but
during Aurangzeb’s regnancy, cruelty and tyranny, bigotry and
intolerance, and proselytism reached its pinnacle. The earlier Muslim
rulers were prompted by holy considerations in all their acts of cruelty
and conversation. But Aurangzeb earnestly endeavored to obliterate the
last traces of Hinduism from the Indian soil. As he had dealt fiendishly
with his own brothers on his way to the throne, his showing of extreme
cruelty to Hindus, the infidels, is quite understandable. Thereby he
wanted to absolve himself of the sin of fratricide and inhuman treatment
of his father Shah Jahan. The time had come for the annihilation of the
Hindus, Aurangzeb celebrated his victories by weighing heaps of the
sacred threads of the Hindus, killed in the battle. The heavier the
weight, the greater the victory. All great Hindu kingdoms had vanished
from the Indian scene. The days of the Lunar Dynasty were over; the
Yadav kings were a thing of the past. The scions of remnants of the
Solar Dynasty like the King of Mewar were hiding in the fastnesses of
jungles and hill nooks. The proud Rajputs of the Agni Dynasty were busy
offering their winsome daughters to the Muslim rulers. The pride of the
Hindus was trampled upon and they lay inert under the Muslim heel.
The raft of Hindus Dharma was about to founder. It was rudderless,
without a helmsman, far away from the shores with no hope ever of making
it. In this predicament, piercing the mists of despondency there emerged
a figure of hope. This personage took the boat out of the ravaging
tempest and steered it to the haven of the shore. He was like beneficial
rain for the withered and drooping garden of the Hindus Dharma. Like a
true friend he alleviated the sufferings of the Hindus. Who was he? No
other than Guru Gobind Singh, known the world over. The sapling which
was planted by Guru Nanak was watered by the blood of Guru Arjan and
Guru Hargobind and fertilized by their bones. Guru Teg Bahadur quickened
its growth by injecting into its veins the vital fluid flowing out of
his beheaded body. Guru Gobind Singh helped it mature into a
full-fledged tree with the blood of his five beloved disciples, four
sons and thousands of his followers. At last this tree bore fruit. Its
fruit was nationalism, brotherhood, love and monotheism.
I am endeavoring to portray in the following pages the life of such a
fine religious preceptor, great benefactor, peerless fighter, patriot
and nation builder for the perusal of the readers. If it finds favour I
shall be immensely beholden to them.

ROLE OF SIKHISM-KHALSA
AGAINST - TERRORISM
THE ANTI TERROR REMEDY FOUNDER
GURU GOBIND SINGH JI
IN 1699AD
AT- ANAND PUR- PUNJAB-INDIA
Announced “WAR ON TERROR”
ANTI TERROR RELIGION - Since 1699 A.D .
“SIKHISM” out of which came “ KHALSA”
To day all around the world there is only one discussion , all leaders
around the world are holding conferences discussions on “WAR ON TERROR”
that how to control Terrorism
I would like to bring to their notice that:-
Do they know, how it all started and when?
This problem started some time in 620AD in Mecca, the city of Saudi
Arabia, which means this is not a new problem and that this problem is
more than 1380 years old.
What actually jihadis are looking for?
What is jihad?
ACCORDING TO FANATIC CLASS ONLY
NOT ALL ORIGNAL MUSLIMS
“Jihad has come to mean an offensive war to be waged by Muslims against
all non-Muslims to convert them to Islam”
Please note:-
(The above interpretation is basically wrong and misleading
interpretation by fanatic class only, NOT BY ALL MUSLIMS,The original
muslims actually they were great as Mia Mir who laid down the foundation
stone of Golden temple, Muslim faqir Sheikh farid who’s bani is included
in Guru Granth sahib according to that bani attains status of Guru,
There are many more, like King Akbar who respected all religions, and
many others also .)
Every person finding a solution to this problem of Terrorism must know
the cause, of why (counting from the year 2009) nearly 1375 years back
in the year 634 AD., the Muslims launched their first merciless attack
on the Christian kingdom of Byzantine, and converted the local Christian
population to Islam at the point of the sword, after capturing
Jerusalem, Damascus, Cesaria, Antioch and Cairo (then called Babylon and
later Al Fustat).
Why was this first unprovoked attack on Christendom unleashed?
The Byzantine Christians had not attacked Arabia, they had not attacked
Muslims. Then why were they attacked by the Muslims? The reason for this
attack lies in the rejection of the Dawat-ul-Islam (Invitation to
embrace Islam) sent to the Christian Byzantine Emperor Heraclius
(Heraclios) by Mohammed-ibn-Abdallah, This invitation was in fact an
ultimatum to either embrace Islam, or surrender to the Muslim armies and
pay protection money to the Muslims through a penal tax called Jaziya or
to prepare for war. (It is in the same spirit that the Ayman Al Zawahiri
calls upon President George Bush to embrace Islam). Since Heraclius
rejected all these demands, the Muslims launched their first major
attack on a Christian kingdom in the year 634 (they had launched a
smaller attack five years earlier in 629 at Mu’ta and had been
defeated).
This story of Muslim aggression and occupation of Christian lands,
repeated itself over the next 1372 years when the Muslims launched
unprovoked attacks on Christian Egypt in 640, on Christian Nubia in 650,
on Christian North Africa in 650, on Christian Spain in 711 and again on
3/11), on Christian France (under Frankish rule) in 732, on Christian
Sicily in 812, on Christian Byzantine again in 1071 to 1453, on
Christian Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Croatia, Albania, Hungary Austria,
Poland Russia in the period between 1389 to 1683 and on Christian
America on 9/11.
All these Christian nations were invaded by the Muslims Fanatic class,
not because they had any grievance against them, not because they had
attacked the Muslims, but because it was in the world view of the
Muslims to attack all non-Muslims and convert them to Islam. That was
the reason why they attacked on 9/11.
INDIA also faced its heat in AD 712 when Mohd bin qasim attacked sind.
And there after a series of attack by different islamists, followed in
1010,AD 1226 , AND THEN IN 1526 By Moghul Babbar and after till 1774,and
there after till now it is ON in “Swat valley Afghan pak border” Even
this act is condemened by majority of Muslims or we can say by the true
Muslims, who are not in favor of fanatic class.
All attacker had only the same agenda ,loot and forcible conversion to
islam or face death. Many battles were fought by different countries in
Europe as mentioned above, and middle east asia including some parts of
china are also mentioned in the history, many resisted for years for
example Turks fought for nearly 400 years and then surrendered and
embraced islam, similarly many others also fought, but question is that
:
Has any body or any country or any organization taken it seriously so
far?
Has any body come out with any solution?
Every body who so ever is a non muslim was attacked and in retaliation
they fought or died or embraced islam but there is no reference that any
permanent remedy was chalked out .
There is only one example where there is a special class which was
created as a special class to fight.
There is only one example in the history
that in the year 1699A.D.on 13th April
GURU GOBIND SINGH ji
THE TENTH SIKH GURU of “Sikhism”
ANNOUNCED and established “KHALSA” An Anti Terror Remedy
A SPECIAL CLASS TO FIGHT TERRORISM.
Now let us see what was the situation which made Guru Gobind singh ji
take this decision.
As on April 13th 1699 Guru ji was having the past history of almost
1200years before him. And more particularly 100 years of past history
out of 1200 years, was the happenings with his own family Which are as:-
In 1606 the fifth Sikh Guru Arjan dev ji was executed because of non
acceptance of islam by the then moghul emperor jahangir.
On 11th November 1675 the ninth Sikh guru Guru Tegh bahadur ji father of
Guru Gobind singh ji along with his five sikh devotees were beheaded in
Delhi by the then moghul emperor Aurangzeb.
Apart from the above many other battles were fought by the sixth, and
seventh sikh Gurus, where countless sacrifices were made, in 1700
century from 1606 to1699.
After the announcement and establishment of KHALSA In 1699
What all, “Khalsa”did, Which means, lets see the performance of khalsa
for the past 310 years, which many may not like to propagate as it put
the Khalsa on the top of the world but any way fact remains fact which
no body can deny that:-
“PERFORMANCE OF KHALSA”
1699 TO TILL DATE
In the year 1699 INDIA under the command and control of the then moghul
emperor aurungzeb, the situation in central and northern India including
Delhi was that :-
All places of worship of non fanatics were closed from the last 25years
i.e. since 1674 all Temples Gurdwaras were demolished or closed. Non
muslims were living in fear even the diwali was not allowed to non
muslims and in short , life was made hell for the non muslims.
It was only Khalsa’s intervention ,who started fighting for almost 75
long years fighting number of battles,
Sikhs have faith in Guru’s word, who categorically stated in Zafarnama
in NO9and 10, that:-
“MAN-AKNU-BA-AFZALAI-PURSHAY-AKAAL
KUNAM-JA-AABEY-AAHAN-CHUNA-BAR SHAGAAL………………9..Zafarnama
Ki-HARGIZ-AZAA-CHAR-DEEWAREY-SHOOM
NISHAANI-NAMANADBAREY-PAK-BOOM…………………………..10…Zafarnama
MEANS:- Ordained-by-the-Mightiest-of-all,
those-baptised-from-the-steelbowl
shall-drown-you-in-deadly-rain-of-canon-balls …………………9
Not-a-trace-of-your-unclean-ways-will-remain
when-destruction-rains-down-from-all-four-sides……………..10
And in 12 and 13 of Zafarnama, Guru ji further warned the Leader of
terrorists:The above prediction of Guru ji proved truth in 1774 and the
below warning and challenge also happened as told.
“BARI SU CHU AKNU NIGABAD RAVAD
KI AAN TALAKHI VA TASHANGI AAT RAVAD” ………12 Zafarnama
“CHUNA AATSHAY JERAY NAALAT NIHAM
JE PUNJAB AABAT, NA KHURDAN DIHAM”…………… 13 Zafarnama by
Guru Gobind Singh ji,
Zafarnama means “ Letter of victory written to Aurangzeb by Guru Gobind
Singh ji”
MEANS of 12 Zafarnama:-
DO NOT TURN YOUR EVIL EYES UPON US or UPON MY Punjab/COUNTRY,
THIS WAY YOU WILL CREATE DISTURBANCE FOR YOURSELF NOTHING ELSE……….12
Zafarnama
FIRES WILL BURN THE HOOVES OF YOUR STEEDS, IF YOU EVER MADE A
MISTAKE OF ATTACKING PUNJAB ,INDIA, NOT A DROP OF WATER WILL YOU GET……13
Zafarnama
And as stated by Guru ji it happened accordingly:
and in June1774 khalsa Forces CAPTURED DELHI, IN HISTORY IT IS MENTIONED
LIKE as following:-
“In June1774, khalsa forces headed by , Jassa singh ahluwalia and Sardar
Baghel singh attacked the forces of shah alam with thirty thousand Sikhs
and they came and encamped at a place near Kashmiri Gate, that is why
today that place is known as “Tis hazari”. They planned two pronged
attack. One section invaded the Ajmeri Gate and the other one breached
the wall of the Red Fort and entered the place, which is now known as
the Mori Gate. After a fierce battle, the Singhs captured Red Fort,
hoisted the Kesri Flag, and put Panj Pyare, including Sardar Jassa Singh
Ahluwalia, on the throne of the Delhi.
Shah Alam, through the aegis of his Ministers, Court Official Munshi Ram
Dyal, and Begham (Queen) Samroo offered reconciliation with the Singhs
and accepted their four conditions:
1. No Mughal Official would indulge in atrocities on the populace.
2. The Mughal King would pay three hundred thousand rupees as a gift.
3. The Kotwali Area would remain the property of the Khalsa Army.
4. Sardar Baghel Singh would trace historically significant Sikh places
in Delhi, and would establish Sikh Temples there. Hindus shall be
restored their temples, Till this work was completed he would stay in
Delhi with a constabulary of 4,000 horses. The Delhi Ruler would bear
all their expenses. Consequently, rest of the Khalsa Army returned.
Sardar Baghel Singh set up an octroi-post near Sabzi Mandi to collect
the tax on the goods imported into the city to finance the search and
the construction of the Sikh Temples. He did not want to use the cash
received from the Government Treasury for this purpose, and most of that
was handed out to the needy and poor. He often distributed sweetmeats,
bought out of this Government gift, to the congregationalists at the
place which, now, is known as the Pul Mithai.
With the help of Hindu, Muslim and Sikh old residents of Delhi, Sardar
Baghel Singh found and established seven historical places as the Sikh
Temples:
1. Gurdwara Mata Sundri Ji at the place which was know as the Haveli
Sardar Jawahar Singh.
2. Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. A Mansion belonging to Raja Jai Singh existed
there once. Guru Harkrishan sahib ji, the Eighth Guru had stayed there.
3. Gurdwara Bala Sahib. Last rights of Guru Harkrishan sahib ji, Mata
Sundri ji and Mata Sahib Kaur ji were performed at this place.
4. Gurdwara Rakab Ganj. The torso of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was ceremated
here.
5. Gurdwara Sees Ganj. Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was martyred at this place.
6. Gurdwara Moti Bagh. Guru Gobind Singh ji sent a message to the Mughal
King, Bahadur Shah, by throwing an arrow from this place.
7. Gurdwara Majnu Tilla. It was established in the memory of a Sikh of
Guru Nanak dev ji, named Majnu. Guru Hargobind stayed at this place on
his way to Gwalior.
On the completion of all the Gurdwaras, Baghel Singh appointed the Bhais
(attendant priests) to look after the places and decided to return to
Punjab, as well. He was persuaded by Munshi Ram Dyal not to abandon
Delhi once the Mughals had coneded to his authority and supermacy. But
Baghel Singh replied, "We have been endowed with Kingdom and Destiny by
our Guru. Whenever we wished, we could capture Delhi. It won't be
difficult for the Khalsa."
Sardar Baghel Singh once again decided to invade Delhi in 1785. Shah
Alam, scared of Singh, signed a treaty with the Marathas. The Marathas
initialed an agreement with the Singhs and consented to pay one million
rupees as Gift.
And after this KHALSA RAJ Known as Sarkar KHALSA was established by
Maharaja Ranjit singh in 1790 till 1839 in whole of Punjab and now known
as Pakistan and afganistan KHALSA stood as strong wall on the Indian
borders and Ranjit singh fought dozens of battles loosing none, When the
Afghans in the eighteenth century had routed the Mughals and later the
Marhatas at Panipat, it were the Sikhs and the Sikhs khalsa alone who
stood between them and their territorial designs against India. It is
now recognized by all the objective historians of the World that but for
the bitter struggle then put up by the Sikhs, khalsa, the entire
territory upto Jamuna would have formed part of the Afghan Empire. At
the cost of the stupendous sacrifices, the Sikhs saved the geographical
entity of India from being dismembered at that crucial stage of history.
It were also the Sikhs, khalsa who salvaged the honor of this country
when they freed thousands of innocent young women from the clutches of
Nadir Shah, Ahmed Shah and a host of other marauders who used to sell
them in the Bazars of Kabul, Ghazni and Persia, like Goats and Sheeps;
again, it were the Sikhs khalsa alone who after thousands of years,
reversed the course of history by rolling the invaders back to their
quarters and sealing the vulnerable areas in the North West against all
future invasions with their blood and bones.
It was after Maharaja Ranjit singh’s death ,some traitors conspired with
britishers and in 1857 khalsa sarkar was overtaken by britishers from
the heirs of Maharaja Ranjit singh.
Again the creation of Khalsaa by Guru Gobind singh ji and the teachings
Prooved usefull and had been applied by the khalsa against the british
for fighting freedom as well, and a tradition started in northern India
in non sikh mostly Punjabi families, that from every family that elder
son will be made sikh .
And the movement of bharat chhoro and mutiny started in actual sense in
1857 , and the data available with historians and on record that out of
total deaths in fighting freedom of INDIA , KHALSA once again stood on
the top.
It is ABOUT 8O% belongs to KHALSA, of the total deaths IT IS ON

Another most important point to note is Khalsa led Punjab the only state
where terrorist could not run their shop, terrorist tried in the last
decade but failed miserably, because of the tough stand taken by the
majority population.
There is one more issue arises here once we revise the past performance
of khalsa of the past 309 years and the khalsa contribution towards anti
terrorism in the world and in our country in particular, it is a matter
of surprise that when a organization who is found involved in any
terrorist activity by government that attracts the attention of whole
world and country after country put ban on that organization for example
SIMI ,LET etc and recently UN also banned LET (Lashkar e taiba) and put
some sanctions , but where a separate class was created to fight
terrorism and that class has a past proven track of 310 years, does that
classs does not deserve to be classified ,& shall not be announced and
recognised as PRIVILEDGED CLASS with some extra benefits and annual
grants to its organizations.
once we revise the past performance of khalsa of the past 310 years and
the khalsa contribution towards anti terrorism in the world is a
contribution of INDIA against terrorism, it was only INDIA from where
the war on terror was declared in 1699, and How unfortunate it is that
the country INDIA “its INDIAN khalsa who were pioneers in controlling
terrorism and who have proven track record in controlling terrorism from
the last 310years.” have not been included in UNITED NATIONS as Its
permanent member country as yet. INSTEAD , the permanent member country
France has imposed ban on Turban of Sikh students and inspite of request
by Government of INDIA , the matter is not given the due importance and
the United Nation has also not paid due attention as yet, How come the
united Nation can hope to win the war on terror, when they Suppress the
“Anty terror class” to expand and not giving the deserved place to their
country INDIA. Who was the first one to face the disaster of terrorism
for almost more than 200years from the year 1600 onwards...
Question here is do the Permanent member country of United Nation who
are, USA, CANADA, FRANCE, UNITED KINGDOM,, ,CHINA truly and honestl;y
want to eliminate terrorism????? If yes
INDIA shall be included in UN as its permanent member at once, and ban
on turban in France and other restrictions on sikh khalsa principals in
various parts of world , shall be lifted unconditionally, with a
declaration for the world to parmote Sikh khalsa on priority basis, so
that the khalsa principals shall never be disturbed.and a clean
international green card for Gurdwaras, shoud be given to khalsa’s to
have their Gurdwara any where in the world without any permission and NO
Country will object to this in future..because,It is very simple formula
in khalsa principals on Terrorism, after a proven record which has
become an INDIA principals , that is, either will stay, either terrorism
or khalsa ,both at one place is not possible, as the khalsa principals
are the only remedy to the terrorism, if some one who so ever in the
world is against INDIAN khalsa or khalsa principals, is parmoting
terrorism.
“ KHALSA of INDIA ”proved beyond doubt to be An Anti Terror Remedy
TODAY WITH IN THESE 310 YEARS KHALSA’S HAVE
. more than 25000 Gurdwaras…across India all figures are being recorded
and also have thousands of …education institutions where in about

Max Arthur Macauliffe
This eminent scholar has written six books on Sikh history. He addresses
the Western Six books on Sikh history. He addresses the Western Society
and claims to bring Sikh religion from the East which is simple to
understand. There is no place to pretence and hypocritical in this
religion…..
Flesh, Alcohol Tobacco and other drugs are prohibited in it…. It nor
only teachers kindness, love, honesty but also encourages its followers
to accept all human beings as one thus diminishing all racial
differences…. Teachings of Buddha and other religious were written when
they were no more in this world. But teachings of Sikh Guru’s is written
and edited by themselves, thus they are found in their original forms.
Battles fought by Sikh Gurus were not against any communalism and
orthodoxy but they fought for the betterment of society, to protect
people from tyranny and for the upliftment of their souls.
In his book, "The Sikh Religion," Macauliffe writes:
"Unlike the scriptures of other creeds, they do not contain love stories
or accounts of wars waged for selfish considerations. They contain
sublime truths, the study of which cannot but elevate the reader
spiritually, morally, and socially. There is not the least tinge of
sectarianism in them. They teach the highest and purest principle that
serve to bind man to man and inspire the believer with an ambition to
serve his fellow men, to sacrifice all and die for their sake."
Macauliffe deems it necessary to draw the reader's attention to another
significant feature of Sikhism which distinguishes it and separates it
from other philosophical and religious systems of thought:
"The Sikh religion differs as regards the authenticity of its dogmas
from most other great theological systems. Many of the great teachers
the world has known, have not left a line of their own composition, and
we only know what they taught through tradition or second-hand
information. If Pythagoras wrote any of tenets, his writings have not
descended to us. We know the teachings of Socrates only through the
writings of Plato and Xenophon. Buddha has left no written memorials of
his teaching. Kungfu-tze, known to Europeans as Confucious, left no
documents in which he detailed the principles of his moral and social
systems. The Founder of Christianity did not reduce his doctrines to
writing, and for them we are obliged to trust to the Gospels according
to Matthew, Mark. Luke, and John.
The Arabian Prophet did not himself reduce to writing the chapters of
the Quran. They were written or compiled by his adherents and followers.
But the compositions of the Sikh Gurus are preserved and we know first
hand what they taught. They employed the vehicle of verse, which is
generally unalterable by copyist, and we even become in time familiar
with their different styles. No spurious compositions or extraneous
dogmas, can therefore be represented as theirs.
The author of the 'Vie de Jesus' was a great admirer of Jesus Christ.
Greatly impressed as he was of the spiritual message delivered by Christ
and those of the Semitic thinkers that preceded him, he posed the
question: "Whether great originality will again arise or the world be
content to follow the paths opened by the daring creators of the ancient
ages?" Bearing Sikhism in mind, Macauliffe answers the above question in
the following words:
Now there is here a religion totally unaffected by Semite or Christian
influences. Based on the concept of the unity of God, it rejected Hindu
formalities and adopted an independent ethical system, ritual, and
standards, which were totally opposed to the theological beliefs of Guru
Nanak’s age and country. As we shall see hereafter, it would be
difficult to point to a religion of greater originality or a more
comprehensive ethical system."
Macauliffe continues:
"Guru Nanak was not a priest either by birth or education, but a man who
soared to the loftiest heights of divine emotionalism, and exalted his
mental vision to an ethical ideal beyond the concept of Hinduism or
Mohammadanism.
It (Sikhism) prohibits idolatry, hypocrisy, caste exclusiveness,
con-cremation (Satti) of widows, the immurement (confinement) of women
(like Muslims), the use of wine and other intoxicants, tobacco smoking,
infanticide, slander, pilgrimage to the sacred rivers and tanks of the
Hindus. It inculcates loyalty, justice, impartiality, truth, honesty and
all the moral and domestic virtues to holiest citizens of any country. "
Joseph Davey Cunningham
Joseph Davey Cunningham(1812 - 1851), the first British historian of the
Sikhs (his A History of the Sikhs was published in London in 1849), was
the eldest of the five sons of Allan Cunningham, a noted poet and
playwright. Born at Lambeth on 9 June 1812, Joseph had his early
education in private schools in London where he showed such a marked
aptitude for mathematics that his father was advised to send him to
Cambridge. But as the young boy was more keen on becoming a soldier, a
cadetship in the East India Company's service was procured him through
the good offices of Sir Walter Scott. He received his military training
at Addiscombe and professional training in engineering at Chatham.
Towards the end of 1832, he reached Delhi and joined the Corps of
Sappers and Miners in the Bengal Army. In 1837, he was appointed
assistant to Colonel (afterwards Sir) Claude Wade, the political agent
at Ludhiana and officerincharge of British relations with the Punjab and
with the chiefs of Afghanistan. For the next eight years he held various
appointments under Colonel Wade and his successors, and was, at the time
of the outbreak of the first AngloSikh war in 1845, political agent in
the state of Bahawalpur. He was summoned to the battlefront and attached
first to the staff of Sir Charles Napier and then to that of Sir Hugh
Cough. He was present, as political officer, with the division of Sir
Harry Smith at the battles of Baddoval and 'Aliwal. At Sabhraori, he
served as an additional aiddecamp to the GovernorGeneral, Sir Henry
Hardinge. His services earned him a brevet and appointment as political
agent to the state of Bhopal. In 1849, appeared his A History of the
Sikhs which he had written while at Bhopal and which his brother had got
published in London. His severe criticism, in the book, of Lord
Hardinge's Punjab policy brought upon him the wrath of his superiors. He
was removed from his political appointment and sent back to regimental
duty. He took the disgrace to heart and, soon after his appointment to
the Meerut division of Public Works, he died suddenly at Ambala in 1851.
A History of the Sikhs from the Origin of the Nation to the Battles of
the Sutlej, by Cunningham, is the first serious and sympathetic account
of the Sikh people ever written of them by a foreigner. Cunningham
explored the available materials with the rneticulousness of a scholar.
Besides official despatches and documents and the earlier English
accounts, he went to the original sources and acquainted himself with
the Sikh scriptures as well as with relevant manuscripts in Persian and
Punjabi. The emphasis in Cunningham's History shifted from his
predecessors' concern with the assessment of Sikhs' political and
military strength or the description of the manner of their court to the
identification of the ingredients of their moral and religious
inspiration and of the driving force behind their rise from a religious
sect to nationhood. The book is also significant for its account of the
geography and economy of the Punjab and for its analysis of the social
milieu in which Sikhism was born. Elaborate footnotes and appendices
show the minuteness and range of Cunningham's learning.
Cunningham had aimed at achieving two objectives in writing his History.
His main endeavour was "to give Sikhism its place in the general history
of humanity, by showing its connection with the different creeds of
India..." Secondly, he wished "to give some account of the connexion of
the English with the Sikhs, and in part with the Afghans ..." His first
four chapters, covering the history of the Sikhs from its beginning to
1764, traced the growth of "a nation" animated by a living faith. Their
religious faith, he inferred, was the main motive force of their
history. That was both because it had appeared at a time when the
historical situation needed it the most and because of the "excellence"
of Guru Nanak's message. An important feature of Sikhism, in
Cunningham's eyes, was its spirit of freedom and progress.
The last five chapters were a contempo rary history of Cunningham's own
times, based on the official and secret records of the government of the
East India Company. A large part of these five chapters dealt witli
Ranjit Singh's rise to power, his achievements and his relations with
the British. Of these, the last chapter entitled "The War with the
English," which detailed the immediate circumstances leading to the
AngloSikh war of 1845-46 was, however, a scathing criticism of
GovernorGeneral Lord Hardinge who, said Cunningham, had done nothing to
prevent the earlier mistakes from continuing to add to the distrust of
the Sikh army from feeling suspicious of British intentions, in which
situation the war was an inevitability.
According to Cunningham's analysis, the British won the war they had
precipitated but could have as well lost it. What really contributed to
the success of the British was the treachery of the Lahore leaders who
had instigated it. Raja Lal Singh, Raja Tej Singh, the commanderinchief
and Raja Gulab Singh had played a treacherous role and betrayed their
own army in varying degree.
Besides having Cunningham dismissed from the political service, Hardinge
who had taken grave umbrage at the publication of the book, prevailed
upon J.W. Kaye, an acknowledged authority on Indian history, to write a
detailed review of it. This review, published in The Ca]cutta Review,
mostly attempted to rebut Cunningham's thesis. Kaye's review started a
controversy which continued throughout the nineteenth century. Some
looked upon the book as the outpourings of "the apologist of the
Khalsa." But today Cunningham's History is commonly recognized as a
standard, responsible work.
Arnold Toynbee, a historian
Arnold Toynbee, a historian
One of the prominent historians in the 20th Century, Amold has written
20 volumes on World History. Arnold has given very high and prominent
place to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Sikh History. He calls Guru Ji as
divinity of highest rank. He gets emotional when he writes about Guru
Sahib’s contribution in the formation of Khalsa. Again & again he
emphasizes the fact that there can not be any person like them.
When Western organizations and U.N.O. became known to Sri Guru Granth
Sahib’s teachings, they at once decided to translate them into English
and other languages. The decided to publish a book based on the
principles and teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. For writing the
prologue of this book, they did not find any one more intelligent,
intensive and sensible than Toynbee. Since Toynbee had a deep knowledge
regarding different societies religions and principles so this task was
assigned to him. No one could write better than him. Toynbee in his
prologue to this book has clearly mentioned that there can not be better
guide to humans as compare to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This book also
explains how Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji inspire its followers to do their
best, give knowledge and deep insight to them in the name of the God and
yet God is an imagined as a word only, hence no worshipping, nothing at
all. God is an imagined word which inspire his followers for good deeds.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toynbee in his sacred writings of the Sikhs—A Unesco Publications
explains, “Although the future of religion is bleak but yet one hope is
there in the form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji which teaches us all God’s
message of love and gives direction to life."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toynbee has also expressed his view that Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s
teachings are the best according to our great Guru’s teaching there is
no need for one to leave one’s home in order to search God. Gurmat
teaches us how to be worldly and yet God seeker. According to it, true
discipline of God is one who exists in this world and yet is a hermit.
It teaches us to work hard for earning money by remembering God. It
teaches us not to be a hypocrite, dishonest and font at any place or
time. A true follower lives according to the teachings given in Sri Guru
Granth Sahib Ji. He sheds all prejudices and identity and merges into
God. He lives as if he does not exist. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji has
taught the world the supreme way of living life which Lenin was to teach
after two centuries.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toynbee also writes about his one personal experience. He recalls one
accident when he had met an American lady. She wanted to ask something
from him for she knew that he had studied different cultures,
traditions, religious and views. So she felt that probably only Toynbee
could give her the answer. She asked Toynbee if he could tell her who is
the most beautiful person in this World? Toynbee immediately replied, “A
man with open beard and a complete Gursikh”. She was surprised to hear
his answer. She thought a little and then again asked, “who is the most
ugliest person to you” ? Toynbee replied, “Sikh who has cut his hair”.
This time she became more surprised. These answers grew curiosity in her
about Sikh religion and she decided to gain more knowledge about it.

Pearl S. Buck Noble Laureate, ‘Good Earth’
while giving her comments on the English translation of the Guru Granth
Sahib (From the foreword to the English translation of Guru Granth Sahib
by Gopal Singh Dardi) wrote:
"I have studied the scriptures of the great religions, but I do not find
elsewhere the same power of appeal to the heart and mind as I find here
in these volumes. They are compact in spite of their length and are a
revelation of the concept of God to the recognition and indeed the
insistence upon the practical needs of the human body. There is
something strangely modern about these scriptures and this puzzled me
until I learned that they are in fact comparatively modern, compiled as
late as the 16th century when explorers were beginning to discover the
globe upon which we all live is a single entity divided only by
arbitrary lines of our making. Perhaps this sense of unity is the source
of power I find in these volumes. They speak to a person of any religion
or of none. They speak for the human heart and the searching mind.
The hymns in Guru Granth are an expression of man’s loneliness, his
aspirations, his longings, his cry to God and his hunger for
communication with that being. It speaks to me of life and death; of
time and eternity; of temporal human body and its needs; of the mystic
human soul and its longing to be fulfilled; of God and the indissoluble
bond between them."
Bertrand Russell (Philosopher, Mathematician 1872-1970)
If some lucky men survive the onslaught of the third world war of atomic
and hydrogen bombs, then the Sikh religion will be the only means of
guiding them. When asked, isn’t this religion capable of guiding mankind
before the third world war? He said, ‘Yes it has the capability, but the
Sikhs haven’t brought out in the broad daylight the splendid doctrines
of this religion, which has come into existence for the benefit of the
entire mankind. This is their greatest sin and the Sikhs cannot be freed
of it.'
H. L. Bradshaw, professor, writer and historian
American writer and historian Bradshaw while writing about Sikh Religion
says, "This religion is in proximity with science, that is why this
religion will be the last resort for the future generation."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A well known professor, after thoroughly studying the philosophy of
Sikhism observed that "Sikhism is a universal world faith, a message for
all men. This is amply demonstrated in the writings of the Gurus. Sikhs
must cease to think of their faith as "just another good religion" and
must begin to think in terms of Sikhism as being the religion for this
new age. The religion preached by Guru Nanak (Dev Ji) is the faith of
New Age. It completely supplants and fulfils all the former
dispensations of older religions. Books must be written proving this.
The other religions also contain the truth, but Sikhism contains the
fullness of truth."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bradshaw also says that Guru Granth Sahib of all the world religions
alone states that there are innumerable worlds and universes other than
our own. The previous scriptures were all concerned only with this world
and its spiritual counterpart. To imply that they spoke of other worlds
as does the Guru Granth Sahib is to stretch their obvious meaning out of
context. "The Sikh religion is truly the answer to the problems of
modern man." Bradshaw very rightly commented that, " The religion of the
Adi Granth is a universal and practical religion. Due to the ancient
prejudices of the Sikhs it could not spread in the world. Sikhs must
cease to think of their faith as just another good religion and must
begin to think in terms of Sikhism as being the religion of new age. The
world today needs its message of peace and love.
Miss Mary J Campbell
After viewing the courage, fearlessness and other qualities of Sikhs,
the English searched a lot about Sikh religion during their regime. They
concluded that Sikh philosophy is highly instrumental in providing
balance, spirituality and a feeling of brotherhood to the life, of human
beings. The English tried to present a distorted picture of Sikh
religion to the illiterate Sikhs and other such people so that, on the
national level, Sikh religion could not make a mark. As a result,
innocent Indians could be easily converted to Christianity. Miss Mary,
an English lady was given the task of presenting a distorted picture of
the teachings of Gurbani. When she made a comprehensive study of
Gurbani, she got so impressed that the herself converted to a Sikh lady.
Dorothy Field (writer) (The Religion of Sikhs)
Another scholar, Dorothy Field in her book, "The Sikh Religion," writes:
"Pure Sikhism is far above dependence on Hindu rituals and is capable of
a distinct position as a world religion so long as Sikhs maintain their
distinctiveness. The religion is also one which should appeal to the
occidental mind. It is essentially a practical religion. If judged from
the pragmatic standpoint which is a favorite point of view in some
quarters, IT WOULD RANK ALMOST FIRST IN THE WORLD (emphasis by the
author). Of no other religion can it be said that it has made a nation
in so short a time.
The religion of the Sikhs is one of the most interesting at present
existing in India, possibly indeed in the whole world. A reading of the
Granth strongly suggests that Sikhism should be regarded as a new and
separate world religion rather than a reformed sect of Hinduism.
It will be seen that the work of Guru Gobind Singh was somewhat
different to that of the other Gurus. His special task was to protect
the sect at a moment when it might have perished and for this work he is
worthy to stand by Nanak, the founder of the whole movement. It must not
be imagined that because he was a fine warrior, he was less spiritual or
less religious than his predecessors. He made religious fervour the
backbone of all his warlike doctrines. Gobind Singh quite naturally
grafted his praise of the sword and his promises of rewards for valour
on the quietistic (passive) doctrines of Nanak."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She writes that, "Sikh fighters are neither cruel nor uncivilized, but
they fight for the justice of their rights which is based on just
methods. After studying Sikh religion and Guru Granth Sahib, she writes
with reverence that Sikh religion should be considered a new and
distinct world religion. The power of Sikh religion is so much that it
influences those people of the West who have a practical approach
towards life. This religion is definitely a practical religion. If
perceived from the behavioral point of view, then in some spheres, Sikh
religion stands ahead of other religions of the world."
Dr. Noel King (Proffesor)
“In order to understand world history, the piety of Sikhs is significant
because it is such a religion which urges us to live life to its full.”
There are the views of Dr. Noel King, Professor, Department of Religious
Studies, California, U.S.A. He writes, “The greatest achievement of the
studies of Macauliffe is that he told the people of the world that Sikhs
have an invaluable treasure in the form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. There
are neither and nor lengthy details in this Granth and it is free from
tantras and mantras. In this context, it is distinct from Vedas,
Shastras, Puranas and Quran Sharif. In the Granth Sahib, only original
truth has been recorded.”
Milton Friedman, American Nobel Laureate Economist
While extolling the various aspects of Sikhs, he has said that Sikhs not
only fill the hunger of India but they keep a watch over India. They
have also played a major role in securing India’s freedom. According to
him, if India comes solely under the authority of the Sikhs, then the
problems of degeneration and poverty will be solved. The fear of any
foreign invasion will cease to exist.
Charles Freer Andrews (C.F. Andrews), Writer
An 1921, during the time of the incident of Nankana Sahib, one God
fearing man Andrews was there whose name is mentioned in the Morcha of
Guru Ka Bagh. He was immensely moved after viewing such a lot of bloods
hed. He told the D.C. of Lahore that we have read about the
crucification of Jesus Christ which was the result of inhumanity and due
to this inhuman deed, the whole world of Christianity has been
denouncing the killers of Christ. But today I watched about a million
Christs in the form of Sikhs being killed, slaughtered and charred to
death. I was shocked as well as comforted by the fact that there were no
traces of fear and violence in their sacrifices. They were sacrificing
their lives happily following the path showed by their Gurus.
William Warbert, High Official
During the incident of Guru Ka Bagh an Englishman William Warbert was
appointed as a special High Official with the Governor of Punjab. He was
given the work of giving secret reports about the proceedings of the
front of Guru Ka Bagh to the Governor. In these reports while praising
the Sikh highly, he wrote,
“The feeling of 'No one is my enemy, and no one is a stranger. I get
along with everyone' (Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Page 1299)
has been infused in the hearts of the Sikhs by their Guru”. Due to the
reports written in favour of Sikhs, the governor of Punjab transferred
Warbert to Lahore a gesture that showed his anger and displeasure.
Warbert told the then governor of Punjab in the context of Sikh morals
that Sikhs are highly moral people who sympathies with all human beings
and while opposing them, I can keep my wife and child under their
custody without any fear or worry.
Talking about the highly moral lives of the Sikhs, he says that Sikhs
have never learnt to steal and they have never dishonored the daughter
or sister of any man.
They have been directed to do so by their religion and every Sikh
adheres to these norms of Sikhism. They are so much highly moral that
they do not like to keep the company of thieves or immoral people. Truth
is their religion and they never let it escape from their minds. They
not only consider it a crime to kill the wives and children of their
enemies but also endeavour to always protect them.
P.M. Violum (Writer)
This English lady writer in an Introduction to Sikh Belief describes in
an emotional manner the spiritual teachings of Guru Nanak Dev for the
masses. She says that Sikh religion is such a simple path that if a
person worships God with utter devotion, he can easily become one with
God. According to the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, God is the father of
all and all human beings are brothers of each other. That is why in this
religion all people without any discrimination of caste, colour, creed
or sex can sit together and worship God.
Falcon (Historian)
Historian Falcon in Hand Book writes that a Sikh remains the same under
all circumstances. He is strong, simple, intelligent and sober by
nature. He is a highly diligent, dauntless and wise human being. He is
not bothered of getting beaten. Without getting bound in the chains of
casteism, he has a loving attitude towards all.
Dr. W. Kaul (Writer)
He has written a number of books on Sikh religion. When he toured India
in 1985, a lot of atrocities were committed on Sikhs at that time. He
said in one of his lectures that if any religion can bird the masses and
culture of India, it is only Sikh religion. After the lecture he was
asked as to what attracted him towards knowing more about Sikh religion.
He replied that he cannot describe the enormity of Sikh religion but he
can say in a few words that he got highly impressed with the simple path
of the religion to attain God, feeling of brotherhood and Guru Ka Langar
which is served in Gurudwaras to all without any discrimination of
caste, colour or creed. Guru ka langar which is found only in Sikh
Religion cannot be found anywhere in the world.
General Bardwood
“I will not be slightly worried or reluctant to leave my wife and young
daughter under protection of any Sikh soldier.” (cited in Gurmat Prakash
Amritsar, Feb., 1997)
C. H. Loilin, writer
In his book, the Sikhs and their scriptures, he writes that at the time
of partition of 1947, the Sikhs vigorously safeguarded the Muslim state
of Malerkotla. At that time, if a Muslim wanted to go to Malerkotla, he
was taken there safely. The Sikhs never let any harm come to the
property, wives or children of the Muslims of Malerkotla. They did so as
part of their moral duty because the Nawab of Malerkotla had shouted the
slogan of “Hai” in the court of Sirhind to save the divine sons of Guru
Gobind Singh. Even to this day, the Sikhs have been safeguarding this
state.
Lieut. Sir Alexander Burnes, writer
In his book, Travels into Bokhara (1834), he writes that the
fearlessness, calmness and boundless courage of the Sikhs crosses all
the beliefs. They are the bravest among all the Indians. Sikhs are very
open hearted. Rising above the hurdles of casteism, they behave with
others with great love, pleasure and soft-heartedness.
With the virtues bestowed by the Guru, they raise the level of Sikhs in
the eyes of the whole world.
Edward A.D. Bittencourt, writer
This writer says while writing about the omnipresence of Sikh religion,
“Sikh religion is a religion and path which is related to the whole
world, not a repudiator of it”.
Kenneth Marks, government official
“Following the path shown by their Gurus, Sikh are people who are fully
loyal, law bidding and loving people”. This lecture was delivered by him
on 23rd June, 1976 in the Parliament of England.
President George W. Bush
Our Nation has always benefited from a strong tradition of faith, and
religious diversity has been an important part of this heritage. The
Guru Granth Sahib has provided strength, wisdom, and guidance to
hundreds of thousands of Sikhs in America and millions more around the
world.
I applaud the Sikh community for your compassion and dedication to your
faith. By sharing its message of peace, equality, and the importance of
family, you help change lives, one heart and one soul at a time. Bush
added, Laura (Bush’s wife) joins me in sending our best wishes.
Lord Sorensen (World Congress Chairman)
Guru Nanak’s poetry enlightens all those who cherish Spiritual Reality
and truth; reminds those of other faiths of precious treasures they can
gather for their own souls.
Sir Winston Churchill was very well conversant with the bravery of the
Sikhs, who had fought for Britain in the World Wars. Churchill while
speaking in the British Parliament said:
".....It is a matter of regret that due to the obsession of the present
times people are distorting the superior religious and social values,
but those who wish to preserve them with respect, we should appreciate
them as well as help them. Sikhs do need our help for such a cause and
we should give it happily. Those who know the Sikh history, know
England's relationship with the Sikhs and are aware of the achievements
of the Sikhs, they should persistently support the idea of relaxation to
Sikhs to ride a motorbike with their turbans on, because it is their
religious privilege."
Churchill, further added:
"...British people are highly indebted and obliged to Sikhs for a long
time. I know that within this century we needed their help twice and
they did help us very well. As a result of their timely help, we are
today able to live with honour, dignity, and independence. In the war,
they fought and died for us, wearing the turbans. At that time we were
not adamant that they should wear safety helmets because we knew that
they are not going to wear them anyways and we would be deprived of
their help. At that time due to our miserable and poor situation, we did
not force it on them to wear safety helmets, why should we force it now?
Rather, we should now respect their traditions and by granting this
legitimate concession, win their applaud."
Archer (in his book on Sikh faith)
According to the writings of the English writer Archer, “Sri Guru Granth
Sahib is the common religious book of all…. Sikhs have been unsuccessful
in making the world know about their religious book. Today, humanity is
in dire need of Guru Granth Sahib’s peaceful and loving message”.
Col. Pin Mubakant (from Thailand)
Col. Pin Mubakant worked in the government of Thailand as the Minister
of Religious Affairs. While talking about his views on Sikh religion, he
says, “I have been greatly impressed with the Sikhs and their courage. I
have realized that the India lies in the Sikhs. The progress of India
lies in the progress of Sikhs. If Sikhs religion gets a chance to
flourish and if the Indian government gives equal honor to its cultural
and academic aspects, then no reason can deter the country from touching
the Zenith of progress. I feel that only Sikh is such an Indian who has
pressured his culture and attire.”
BUDDHIST’S
Dalai Lama
Revered Tibetans Buddhist monk Dalai Lama, a Nobel prize winner, while
paying his tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji said “Among the astral world of
great religious and spiritual pioneers, Guru Nanak Dev Ji one of the
most luminous stars on account of his unparalleled doctrine of life”.
Tibetans Buddhist regard Guru Nanak Dev Ji as their savior, benefactor
and worship as their deity. They behold him as the reincarnation of
their guru Padam Sambhava. They have even constructed many temples in
the memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Tibetan Buddhists are divided into two
sects, one of the whom do not trim their hair in Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s
obeisance and adore him as Nanak Lama. These Keshdhari lamas when come
to Amritsar, enter the holy Harmandir Sahib prostrating all the way to
the temple (or Shrine).
They have in depth study of sikh religious scriptures and say “God sent
Guru Nanak Dev ji to bestow divine Light of Peace in the World. Through
his holy songs, He guided the masses to attain eternal peace by living
in “Divine-Will”.
MUSLIM’S

Naa Kaho Kab Ki Naa Kaho Tab Ki
Baat Kaho Main Ab Ki
Agar Na Hote Guru Gobind Singh
To Sunnat Hoti Sab Ki.
King Akhbar
Guru Amar Das made the langar system started by Guru Nanak with only
twenty rupees customary. Wherever Guru Amar Das accumulated religious
congregation he also started the custom of pangat (row) and announced
that who so ever comes to the darbar of Guru should first take food at
langar (community kitchen)
Mughal King Akbar was an open hearted and virtuous king who respected
all the religions. He was highly troubled and sad because he had no
offspring of his own. When various appeals and prayers in Dargaahs and
Temples bore no fruits, then he tought of appealing in the darbar (hall
of audience) of Guru Amar Das. When Guru Sahib came to know about his
arrival, then he ordered that according to the norms of Guru’s darbar,
whether a man is a king or a pauper, he should first sit in pangat and
take langar before coming to Guru’s darbar. King Akbar did not feel low
or ashamed and without any discrimination of any type, he sat in pangat
and took langar before coming to Guruji. Then, he went to Guruji with
his appeal and asked for his blessings. Guruji was much pleased with him
and he blessed the king.
King Akbar requested Guruji that he wanted to donate some of his land
for langar. Guruji replied that langar is run with the devotion and
honest earnings of people and so he did not want his land. But King
Akbar’s heart was so much full of love for Guru that he transferred some
land on the name of Guruji’s daughter Bibi Bhani. Later, Guru Ram Das Ji
bought a land of rupee 800 and established Chak Rampur (Ramdaspur) where
he flourished the city of Amritsar and established first Sarovar (holy
lake) named Baani Simran. Then Guru Arjan Dev Ji established Sri
Harmandir Sahib at that place. After some years, Guru Hargobind Ji
established Akal Takht Sahib.
This was the devotion, love, faith and respect of a great Mughal King
for Sikh religion.
Qazi Noor Muhammad, Jang Namah (Battle Chronicles), 1765
"When they take up a musket in hand at the time of battle, they come to
the field fiercely springing and roaring like lions and immediately
split many a breast and make they blood of many others spill in the
dust. You may say that this musket was invented by these dogs (Sikhs).
Though guns are possessed in large numbers by others, yet nobody knows
them better. these bad-tempered people discharge hundreds of bullets on
the enemy on the right and left and in front and on the back. If you
disbelieve in what I say, enquire from the brave warriors who will tell
you more than what I have said and would have nothing but praise for
their art of war. The witness of my statement are those thirsty thousand
heroes who fought with them."
Qazi Noor Muhammad while talking about the various aspects of highly
moral lives of Sikhs says that Sikhs have never learnt to commit any
theft or robbery and they never dishonour any woman. Such a type of
character has been imbibed by their religion.
These are the people of morality and character. They do not company
plunderers and bechelour people. Truth is their religion and they do not
sacrifice it any cost. They do not harm wives and children of their
enemies, rather they try to save the life of innocent people.
Nadar Shah Durani, King of Persia
When Nadar Shah couldn’t gain victory over Sikhs, he became frustrated
and asked Subedar of Lahore, “Tell me, who are these Sikhs ?” Subedar
answered, “This is a group of hermits who believe in bathing twice in
the sacred lake of their Guru and then become invisible. Where they
disappear, no one can make it out.” Nadar Shah became curious, he asked
again, “Where do they live ?” And the answer was, “Their homes are
saddles of their horses”. This aroused more curiously in Nadar Shah, he
asked again, “What do they eat ?” They eat grams as if they are fried
almonds.” All the answer bewildered Nadar Shah and after contemplating
for some time he said, “Beware of these people, they are courageous
people and the day is not so far when they will conquer the whole
country”. (History of Golden Temple).
Gulam Jillani, historian
Gulam Jillani, a muslim historian has written ‘Jangnama Multan’. He
writes in that book that how he used to spy on Sikhs. He tells us that
he used to go to Sikh territories in the disguised form. He gives an
account of battle of Multan in his book. There he described an incident
in which Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s army was attacking Multan and
unfortunately wheel of their artillery was broken. This artillery weapon
was must for the army. Without it their victory was impossible. However
these brave soldiers did not want to lose at any cost. So they decided
to give their shoulder one by one to support this heavy weapon. By
keeping their faith in their Guru, they started giving their shoulder
one by one so that they could win. They were men of guts, death couldn’t
frighten them. Fearlessly they were turning up to support this weapon.
These darlings of their Guru knew it very well that the moment they
would give support to this artillery, they were going to burst into
flames. Even then their spirits were undeterred. They were unrivalled
followers of their Guru. That was the most awesome sight, one would have
ever seen. Finally they made it, it was due to their doughtiness that
they won the battle and the walls of the fort were reduced to ruins.
After giving these details, Jillani writes how he himself was moved by
the fearlessness of these people. Jillani writes that he got impressed
by these people and their courage inspired him too. He wanted to be like
them. He wanted to act in the same way but he couldn’t do that because
if he had acted like them then who would have written about their
bravery and strength of character.
Sheikh Mohammed Mohsin Fäni (Circa 1615-1670) author of book
Dabistan-é-Muzahib (Anthology of Religions) circa 1645
The Bäni i.e. poems of Nanak are, as if they were redolent (fragrance)
of devotion and wisdom. Disciples of Guru Nanak condemn idol worship.
Their belief is that all their Gurus are Nanaks. They do not read the
Mantras of the Hindus. They do not venerate their temples of idols nor
do they beatify their avatars. They do not have deference for Sanskrit,
which according to the Brahmins is the holy language of the angels.
He was the contemporary of Guru Arjun Dev Ji and Guru Hargobind Sahib
Ji. In this book ‘DABISTAN MAJAIB’ he has written that Guru Hargobind
Singh never raised his Sword in Anger or for revenge. He used to raise
it only for two things either to save innocent blood or for
self-defense. Never did he punish the innocent with it. He was fair and
square in his dealings.
Dr. Mohammad Yusuf Abbasi
He is the former head of Department of History in Kaid-e-Aazam
University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He has presented his unbiased views on
Shri Guru Granth Sahib and called it as the repository of world
knowledge. It is a big ocean of Gurbani where any kind of seeker may
find gems, diamonds and pearls. The need of the time is to join this
earth on one single axis – axis of one’s conscience. It is only by
listening to the voice of conscience that we can attain victory over our
problems. And Gurbani is such a sacred thing which actually leads us to
such a path.
Dr. Mohammad Iqbal, scholar
Mulana Iqbal, one of the most famous poets of Punjab was full of
devotion, love and respect for Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He writes at one
place that advent of Guru Nanak Dev was of the same importance as that
of prophet Ibrahim who came into this world 5000 years ago. He writes
that Guru Nanak Dev was such a divine power that with his love he used
to enchant people of various religions, nations and castes. People
couldn’t resist him. And the outcome of this was that they used to
follow his teachings. He was such a majestic personality. To be honest
and truthful was Guru Nanak’s advice. He used to preach his followers to
be truthful. Sayyad Habib Shah who has studied different religions was a
very good friend of Mohammad Iqbal. Habib became deeply influenced by
Guru Nanak’s bani Japuji Sahib. He decided to translate this bani for
the betterment of humanity. When his friend Iqbal came to know about his
plan, he immediately sent a telegram to Habib, cautioning him to be just
and righteous while translating the sacred bani. He writes in his
telegram, “Habib, ask God to give you strength to be honest and just
while translating Guru Nanak’s Japuji Sahib in Urdu. Be neutral while
translating it because this has been penned by great creator Guru Nanak
Dev. And the way Guru Nanak has served Islam is remarkable and
unrivalled”.
Maulavi Gulam Ali
Maulavi Gulam Ali was the courtier in the court of Aurangzeb’s grandson
Farkhshiar. In his book, “Twarikh Mohabbaten Aajam’ he writes that with
Guru Nanak’s preaching cruel used to turn into compassionate. His
divinely verses turned the whole world into a sacred place. Maulavi
writes further that Sayyad Peer Hussain who was acknowledged as the
light of Islam at that time, has highly praised Guru Nanak Sahib. The
knowledge, the skill, the behavior, the celestial qualities which Guru
Nanak had, were found in nobody else. He was a majestic, awesome,
divinely person on whom God had bestowed his special gifts. After
describing the personality of Guru Nanak Dev, he writes that he is
firmly sure of this thing that one day both religious creeds (Hindu and
Muslim) will ultimately come closer to become one and the outcome of
this union will be Sikh religion. The reason for this is the freedom
found in Sikh religion. Sikhism do not believe in Namaz, Roza,
Circumcision, Kabba and idolatry kind of rituals. All the practices like
the practice of untouchability and the practice of sacred thread do not
find any place in this religion. There is no difference between rich and
poor and people of all castes are welcomed in this religion. This is the
reason for the popularity of this community (Sikh Religion) (Reference :
Twarikh Khalsa, part 2, p. 96)
Sikhs are very brave. (Maj. Gen. Mukesh Khan Pakistan Army, author of
book "Crisis of Leadership")
“The major reason for our defeat are Sikhs. We are simply unable to do
anything before them despite our best efforts. They are very daring
people and are fond of martyrdom. They fight courageously and are
capable of defeating an army much bigger than them.”
On 3rd December 1971 we fiercely and vigorously attacked the Indian army
with infantry brigade near Hussainiwala border. This brigade included
Pakistan army’s Punjab regiment together with the Baloch regiment.
Within minutes we pushed the Indian army quite far back. Their defense
posts fell under our control. The Indian army was retreating back very
fast and the Pakistani army was going forward with great speed.
Our army reached near Kausre-Hind post (Kasure). There was small segment
of Indian army appointed to defend that post and their soldiers belonged
to the Sikh Regiment. A few number of the Sikh Regiment stopped our way
forward like an iron wall. They greeted us with the ovation (Slogan) of
‘Bolé-so-Nihal’ and attacked us like bloodthirsty, hungry lions and
hawks. All these soldiers were Sikhs. There was even a dreadful
hand-to-hand battle. The sky filled with roars of ‘Yaa Ali and Sat Sri
Akal’. Even in this hand-to-hand fighting the Sikhs fought so bravely
that all our desires, aspirations and dreams were shattered.
In this war Lt. Col. Gulab Hussain was killed. With him Maj. Mohammed
Zaeef and Capt. Arif Alim also died. It was difficult to count the
number of soldiers who got killed. We were astonished to see the courage
of those, handful of Sikh soldiers. When we seized the possession of the
three-story defense post of concrete, the Sikh soldiers went onto the
roof and kept on persistently opposing us. The whole night they kept on
showering fires on us and continued shouting the loud ovation of ‘Sat
Sri Akal’. These Sikh soldiers kept on the encounter till next day. Next
day the Pakistani tanks surrounded this post and bombed it with guns.
Those, handful of Sikhs got martyred in this encounter while resisting
us, but other Sikh soldiers then destroyed our tanks with the help of
their artillery. Fighting with great bravery they kept on marching
forward and thus our army lost its foothold.
Alas! A handful of Sikhs converted our great victory into big defeat and
shattered our confidence and courage. The same thing happened with us in
Dhaka, Bangladesh. In the battle of Jassur, the Singhs opposed the
Pakistan army so fiercely that our backbone and our foothold were lost.
This became the main important reason of our defeat; and Sikhs’
strength, safety and honour of the country, became the sole cause of
their victory.
HINDU’S
Vinoba Bhave
He was the prominent leader of Land Donation Agitation. He was a social
teacher who was a contemporary of Mahatama Gandhi. Once Bhai Dharm Singh
Zakhmi famous hymn singer went to meet him. Bhave was very delighted to
meet him and he asked Dharm Singh to sing the famous hymn of Guru Nanak
Dev Ji, “ gagan mai thaal rav chand deepak banay taarikaa mandal janak
motee.”
After listening to the hymn Bhave became intoxicated with happiness and
started swinging his head. He appreciated the beauty of hymn and the
imagination of Guru Nanak Dev Ji who has imagined whole celestial as a
tray in which Sun or Moon are lamps. And who has taken the fragrance of
whole nature as the joss-stik of God for worshipping him. Bhave says
that it is the best kind of worshipping since the whole world is
involved in it. So this is not a worshipping by any single community
rather whole humanity is involved in it. Bhave has also translated the
holy words of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Late S. Radhakrishnan, Past President of India
The Adi (original) Granth, which is regarded as the greatest work of
Punjabi literature, is largely the work of Guru Arjan, the fifth of the
ten Sikh Gurus. He brought together the writings of the first four Gurus
and those of the Hindu and Muslim saints from different parts of India.
Guru Arjan’s successors made few additions and the tenth Guru, Gobind
Singh, said that there would be no more (incarnate) Gurus and the Granth
should be regarded as the living voice of all prophets: Guru Väni (Guru
Bäni). William Penn says,
There is something nearer to us than scriptures, to wit, the Word in the
heart from which all scriptures come, Japji says, Gurmukh nadan Gurmukh
Vedan i.e. Word of Guru is music, which the seers hear in their moments
of ecstasy; the word of Guru is the highest scripture. By communion with
the Word we attain the vision unattainable. Guru Arjan says (pothi
parmesar kä thän) that the book (scriptures) is the abode of God. We
find in Adi Granth a wide range of mystical emotions, intimate
expressions of the personal realization of God and rapturous hymns of
divine love.
A remarkable feature of the Adi Granth is that it contains the writings
of the religious teachers of Hinduism, Islam, etc. The Sikh Gurus who
compiled the Adi Granth had this noble quality of appreciation of
whatever was valuable in other religious traditions. The barrier of seas
and mountains will give way before the call of eternal truth which is
set forth with a freshness of feeling and fervor of devotion in the Guru
Granth.
The Hindu leaders neglected to teach the spiritual realities to the
people who were sunk in superstition and materialism. Religion became
confused with caste distinctions and taboos about eating and drinking.
The Muslims were also victims of superstition and some of their leaders
were afflicted with the disease of intolerance. At a time when men were
conscious of failure, Nänak appeared to renovate the spirit of religion
and humanity. Nänak tried to build a nation of self-respecting men and
women, devoted to God and their leaders, filled with a sense of equality
and brotherhood for all.
The Gurus are the light bearers to mankind. They are the messengers of
the timeless. They do not claim to teach new doctrines, but only to
renew the eternal wisdom. Nänak was critical of the formalism
(ritualism) of both Hindus and Muslims. Nänak says, ‘To worship an
image, to make pilgrimages to a shrine, to remain in a desert and yet
have the mind impure is all in vain; to be saved worship only the truth
(God).’ Nänak tells us, ‘keep no feeling of enmity for anyone. God is
contained in every bosom. Forgiveness is love at its highest power.’
Nänak says, ‘where there is forgiveness there is God himself.’ Nänak
strove to bring Hindus and Muslims together. His life and teaching were
a symbol of harmony between the two communities.
Guru Gobind Singh raised Khalsa to defy religious intolerance, religious
persecution and political inequality. Those who groveled in the dust
rose proud, defiant and invincible in the form of Khalsa. They bore all
sufferings and un-nameable tortures cheerfully and unflinchingly. India
is at long last free. This freedom is crown to the Guru’s Khalsa’s
terrific sacrifices and their heroic exploits. Living Religions.
It is however, unfortunate that barriers the Sikh Gurus labored to cast
down are being re-created. Many pernicious practices against which they
(Gurus) revolted are creeping into Sikh society. Worldly considerations
are corrupting the great ideals. Religion which lives in the outer
threshold of consciousness without conviction in the mind; or love in
the heart is utterly inadequate. It (religion) must enter into the
structure of our life; become a part of our being. ‘Sacred Writings of
the Sikhs’, UNESCO Publication
Mahatama Gandhi
Mahatama Gandhi has also written about the unexplainable and unbearing
sacrifices of Sikhs during the Morcha of ‘Guru De Bagh’.
He writes, “courageous Sikhs have won the first battle for freedom of
India, they have raised the dignity of the whole nation.
Mahatama Gandhi sent a telegram to Baba Khadak Singh on 7 January 1922
in which he writes about the historic tragedy of Nankana Sahib. Gandhi
writes that this is the peak example of intolerable brutality of British
Government and the tragedy of Guru Ka Bagh was even much bigger than
that.
Swami Nitya Nand, author of Guru Gyan
Swami Nitya Nand (expired at the age of 135 years) writes in his book
Guru Gyan:
"I, in the company of my Guru Swami Brahma Nanda, while on a pilgrimage
tour, reached Punjab. There we met Swami Satya Nanda, Udaasi (a Hindu
ascetic) He expounded Guru Nanak’s philosophy and religiosity so
eloquently that Swami Brahma Nanda experienced spiritual bliss. During
the visit to the Golden temple in Amritsar his soul was so impressed
that he became Guru’s devotee. After sojourn in Punjab we went to
Hardwar. One day I saw tears in his eyes, though he was healthy. When
asked about it he answered, "I have sifted sand all my life. The truth
dwells in the house of Guru Nanak. I have to take another birth in that
house then only I will attain Mukti (salvation). As he said that his
spirit passed away.
I too contemplate incessantly on Wahéguru (wonderful God) as manifested
by Guru Nanak. For many years I practiced Yoga Aasnas taught by Yogis,
but the rapture and serenity I feel now was never attained before. "
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Swami Nitya Nand used to practice Yoga in order to attain God. But he
couldn’t attain him with his yogic lessons. He writes at one place that
when he meditated according to the principles of Sri Guru Granth Sahib
Ji he was able to achieve God. He writes that as he remembered God as
told in Gurbani, he was able to attain spiritual peace which yoga was
not able to provide. So this Swami criticizes yoga as a means to attain
God and spiritual peace. He too becomes a follower of Guru Granth Sahib
Ji which is the ultimate source of delight for him. It gives tranquility
to his mind and soul.
Rabindera Nath Tagore (Thäkur) Noble Laureate
Rabinder Nath Tagore was the famous poet Laureate of Bengal. He has won
the Nobel Prize in literature. He has also written our national anthem.
At one occasion, when he was being interviewed, he was asked which
should be the International anthem which can express the whole cosmos.
He turned ascetic and replied that the worshipping hymn composed by Guru
Nanak Dev, “ gagan mai thaal rav chand deepak banay taarikaa mandal
janak motee” would be the best International anthem interpreting the
whole creation. This short divinely hymn celebrates the glory of creator
and his creation in a beautiful way. The creator and his creation are
beautifully intermingled in this short but very deep verse. According to
Tagore this is the superb piece of verse in the whole world literature.
Tagore was highly influenced by the martyrdom and sacrifice of Bhai Taru
Singh, Baba Banda Singh Bhadur and manyother brave Sikh warriors. All of
them inspired him for many of his writings. He was greatly influenced by
Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his miraculous power, Applauding Guru
Gobind Singh Ji he had written that it was due to Guru Gobind Singh’s
infinite vision and never ending efforts that breathed life into the
dead self respect of millions of Indians. It was him only who awakened
them finally turning them into unparalleled nation. The making of Khalsa
Panth is one and only unique example of this. Guru Gobind Singh was
himself part of the creator. He revealed the mission of God to the
people. He sacrificed everything for the sake of his purpose, his
nation, humanity and thus finally became absorbed into the Timeless one
whose part he was. Dr. Lalwani in his book ‘Guru Nanak’ writes that
Tagore Sahib has translated many hymns from Shri Guru Granth Sahib into
Bengali. Tagore used to call these hymns as Braham Sangeet and he has
included these hymns into his book ‘Geeta Batta’.
"Many mornings when went to the (Golden) temple, set within a tank,
Bhajan (hymn recitation) was incessant there. Seated in the midst of the
Sikh worshippers there my father (Devendra Nath Tagore, Brahm Smaj
founder) would join them in songs and they would greet him with pleased
cordiality. What makes these songs great poetry is the white radiance
and purity of their emotion absolutely untrammeled (un-restrained) by
the pettifogging (trifling) dogmas of conventional theology.
The Sikhs you see around you today, men of sturdy build, handsome
countenance, tough strength and unflinching courage are sishyas
(disciples) of Baba Nanak. It is his noble personality and sublime
spirituality that brought this race into existence. It is through his
teachings that their temper is fearless; they keep their heads erect;
and their character and countenance are brightened with magnanimity."
Swami Vivekanand
Swami Vivekanand has also expressed his views about Sri Guru Nanak Dev
Ji. He writes, “Guru Nanak was born in the sacred land of India. He gave
a message of love and peace of the whole world and preached the same
through his teachings. He was full of affection for everyone and his
arms were always outstretched as if to embrace the whole world. There
was no difference between a Hindu and a Muslim for him. He was common
Guru to all. He was the Guru of all human race. (Reference: The complete
works of Swami Vivekanand Vol. III page 366)
Swami Vivekanand was greatly influenced by the wonderful custom of
propagation of consecrated water administered in Khalsa that whenever he
used to write a letter to anyone; he used to give highly place to the
ovation written by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, “ WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa
WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh” (Reference : Vivekanand’s Letter No. 207)
The unequalled sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh Ji for the sake of
Nation and humanity always used to prevail on Vivekanand’s mind.
Swami Brahma Nand
He writes, “Throughout my life I have been wandering but wasn’t able to
spend my life according to the principles of Gursikhi as given in Sri
Guru Granth Sahib Ji which is the elixir of life. Guru Granth Sahib Ji
is the true and highest source of redemption. It is useless to try to
redeem oneself from the other sources. This awakening came to my mind
only when I visited Sri Harmandir Sahib and read the sacred hymns from
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. In order to born again”. After saying these
lines Swami Brahma Nand left his worldly abode infront of Swami
Satyanand so that he can fulfils his dream of becoming Sikh in his new
birth. (From the book Giyan Prakash
Pandit Maddan Mohan Malwia
Pandit Ji studied Sikh religion thoroughly. He addresses Hindu community
and says,
“Each Hindu family should convert at least one child into Singh, who can
take care of this world which is our family.” Pandit Ji was strong
devotee of Sant Attar Singh. He was himself inspired by him and
encouraged others too take inspiration from Attar Singh. He also made
him to lay down a foundation stone for Banaras Hindu University.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
According to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
(i) Sikh religion is a spiritual home for those who desire to attain
peace with respect.
(ii) Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is a spiritual guide for me and I strongly
feel that whatever is good for me, is also beneficial for my brothers
all over the world. Guru Granth Sahib represents a casteless society. A
society where there is no racial discrimination or difference of
opinions. This was the reason that under the influence of ‘Gurmat
Prachar Conference’ held in 1935, Ambedkar wanted to convert himself
into a pure Sikh. He also took personal interest in the opening of
Khalsa College, Bombay and also sent his two nephews to Amritsar so that
they could study in Khalsa College, Amritsar. This was all due to
liberal attitude of Sikhism and Ambedkar knew it very well.
In his book ‘Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj’ he writes that generally
people ask me that what will be the religion of India ? Whether it will
be Hindu, Muslim or Christianity. And I always agree with Sri Guru Nanak
Dev Ji while answering this question. My answer to this is that I
strongly feel like Guru Nanak Ji that Sikh religion will be the religion
of India in the coming days. The reason for this is that it has all the
divinely qualities for the welfare of humanity.
Opinion of Russian minister’s about Khalsa
Ministers Valintin, M.Sidorov, and Yuri. O. Agshin
After pulling on for 75 years, the irreligious Soviet Union got
disintegrated in 1992. A few years back, a delegation of the
representatives of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus came to India. They
unanimously decided that the rest of the World might give different
reasons for the disintegration of Soviet Union, but according to them
the only reasons for the disintegration of that country was the
prevalence of irreligiousness in the country. These views are of
Valintin, M. Sidorov and Yuri. O. Agshin. According to these ministers,
they were touring the whole world to find out which religion could
quench their spiritual thirst. While talking to the reporters of Dainik
Tribune, Sirodou stated clearly that the tenets of Sikh religion are
more useful and meaningful for them than any other system because Sikh
teachings are closes to the postulates of Socialism which are emphasized
by the formulators of socialism. The philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is
based on complete faith in hard work, shared food and devotion of God.
Although Socialism was also based on certain principles, there were many
shortcomings in it. The view of Lenin that religion is opium for common
men is in itself a major distortion of facts.
The members of delegation also told that efforts are being made to get
Guru Granth Sahib and other writings of Sikh Gurus translated into
Russian and other languages of former states of Soviet Union so that
people may benefit from them. He also told that the translation of Japji
and Jaap Saahib have already been done. (Cited in Tribune)
It is hoped that the spiritual word created due to deprivation of
religious influence in the Russians will be filled by their acceptance
of the spiritual philosophy of Sikhism. They will live their lives based
on socialist principles and enjoy the spiritual joy of religion. Only
Sikh religion can guide their path.

Subject: Dear Ali we have a problem, please help!
Date: Fri, 05 Oct 2001 20:40:30 +0000
Dear Ali, please help us. We were very impressed with your website and
agreed that religion in general is no longer needed, we can all be
humanistic and live in peace and harmony. We are in the process of
making a website which will hopefully help to destroy the religious
doctrines which divide humanity. We were doing great with knocking out
Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Baha'i, even Buddhism but we
have gotten very stuck with Sikhism. This religion is (to put it nicely)
"a big pain in the ass" (Please pardon the language) We have only found
one site which tries (very poorly) to argue that even this religion is
not needed, but the argument is irrational and very unscientific unlike
the very rational arguments you use.
When we read the following from your website, we found what you said to
be amazingly interesting: "Doubt Everything Find Your Own Light." "Last
Words Dear friend, if you look for meaning in life, don’t look for it in
religions; don’t go from one cult to another or from one guru to the
next. You can expend all your life or look for eternity and will find
nothing but disappointment and disillusionment. Look instead in service
to humanity. You will find “meaning” in your love for other human
beings. You can experience God when you help someone who needs your
help. The only truth that counts is the love that we have for each
other. This is absolute and real. The rest is mirage, fancies of human
imagination and fallacies of our own making." By Ali Sina Why is this
interesting? Because we found this religion of Sikhism to be in
agreement with you! This is why we have a problem. We tried to look at
their holy text (Adi Granth) but didnt find the usual absurdities we
found in the other religious books. In fact its refreshingly inspiring
and very good!? Maybe you can have some better luck.
We tried to visit a couple of websites and got more of a shock. Did you
know that they believed in Democracy, freedom of speech, choice,
expression, freedom of religion, pluralism, human rights, equality
between men and women, equality of all people regardless of race,
religion, caste, creed, status etc. 300 years before the existance of
the USA! Theirs is the only religion which says in their religious
scriptures that women are equal in every respect to men. They even had
women soldiers leading armies in to battle against "you know who" (The
usual suspects - Muslims!) Their history is a proud one, they fought in
both World Wars. Even Hitler praised them for their bravery and Aryan
heritage! Dear Ali, this religion is hard for us to try and criticise
but you are an expert and may find some faults overlooked by us. In
their holy book, there is a round earth, water is made from chemical
elements, there is even mention of the evoution process, big bang and
life on other planets! This is pretty crazy and amazing stuff, who would
have thought that these New York taxi drivers (There are lots of Sikh
taxi drivers in NY) would have such an amzing faith? We read up some
information of what Bertrand Russell had to say about Sikhism, this is
the man who destroyed Christianity (same applies to Islam and Judaism)
and exposed its absurdities, but even this great man got stuck when it
came to Sikhism! In fact he gave up and said "that if some lucky men
survive the onslaught of the third world war of atomic and hydrogen
bombs, then the Sikh religion will be the only means of guiding them.
Russell was asked that he was talking about the third world war, but
isn't this religion capable of guiding mankind before the third world
war? In reply, Russell said, "Yes, it has the capability, but the Sikhs
have not brought out in the broad daylight, the splendid doctrines of
this religion which has come into existence for the benefit of the
entire mankind. This is their greatest sin and the Sikhs cannot be freed
of it."
Please bear in mind that Bertrand Russell was a great philosopher and
free thinker. We have been trying for weeks now to find a way to fairly
and rationally criticize and find fault with this religion but have
failed. We even found out that there are many people converting to this
religion in the USA and Europe as well as Russia (Mostly well educated
and affluent white people). We tried to find some of their literature
and see what kind of claims they make, but unfortunatley they have no
missionary material as they do not have missionsaries! People become
Sikh by learning usually by chance or by coming in to contact with them.
They are currently the 5th biggest religion in the world and growing
quite fast in the west and Russia. Please help us as we are stuck, to
give you an example of they are all about we found the following
websites: http://www.sikhnet.com (This is a pretty good site and
helpful) http://www.hope.at/sikhism (This site is very easy to follow,
check it out, they have a Womans section and a Martyrs section, it looks
like that you are not the only one trying to expose the falseness of
Islam, Sikhs scholars did it hundreds of years ago and got killed for
it!) http://www.sikhs.org (This is the site that was on CNN when Sikhs
in the USA were mistaken for Arabs and Middle Easterners and were
attacked by mindless morons)
Please help us out, we cant make our website about religion being the
cause of war and disharmony when we have this one and only religion
which makes a hell of a lot of sense! lol (I thought Atheism had all the
answers but were kind of stuck now.) We look forward to hearing from
you, we respect your great views and want to promote them to everyone,
thank you for your time, take care.
